Counselling

Counselling falls under the umbrella term of ‘talking therapies’ and allows individuals to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe, confidential environment. The term can mean different things to different people, but in general, it is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth. Counselling can be particularly useful to anyone who has experiences feelings of anxiety during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Lockdown.

What can counselling help with?

Counselling can help you cope with:

  • Issue such as depression, anxiety, anger or an eating disorder

  • Difficult life events, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress

Meditation & Mindfulness

Mindfulness and meditation embody many similarities and can overlap.

Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body. Mindfulness techniques can vary, but in general, mindfulness meditation involves a breathing practice, mental imagery, awareness of body and mind, and muscle and body relaxation.

Mindfulness is all about being aware, which of course includes the practice of meditation. When you are being actively mindful, you are noticing and paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and movements, and also to the effects you have on those around you.

These therapies are ideal for anyone experiencing:

  • Stress and Anxiety

  • Anger

  • Depression

  • Fears

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy, also referred to as guided hypnosis, is a form of psychotherapy that uses relaxation, extreme concentration, and intense attention to achieve a heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness.

Unlike counselling, hypnotherapy often focuses on a singular issue and works with the unconscious. However, this doesn't mean you risk losing control or that you can be manipulated to do or think things you don't want to. At all times when being hypnotised the client always remains in complete control, and although very relaxed, should be able to talk or get up and leave the room if they want to.

Common issues that can be addresses through hypnotherapy are things such as:

  • Anxiety

  • Weight Loss

  • Smoking Cessation

  • Depression

  • Fears & Phobias

  • Confidence Issues

  • Abuse

  • Sleep Issues

  • PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder)

Why Is Corporate Wellness So Important?

Improving Your Bottom Line

A report from Harvard Business School found that for American-based companies, their medical expenses fell by $3.27 for every dollar spent on wellness programs, and that employee absenteeism expenses fell by $2.73.

Curbing absenteeism: Employers have always struggled with absenteeism and the loss in productivity it causes. Yet, when workers come to work when they're sick, they're spreading germs throughout the office, this has never been more relevant than in w post Covid -19 world. If employers could find a way to keep employees healthier, there would be less absenteeism.

Improving morale and productivity:
It is well known that exercise releases endorphins (the "feel good" chemicals) that help improve mood. People who are happier have a more positive outlook, which translates to more energetic workers, better problem-solving and increased productivity.

Increasing employee retention: Employees feel valued when their companies invest in their well-being with wellness programs. This, and their positive attitude towards their work, makes them more likely to stay at their jobs.

Healthy employees are more productive and have fewer accidents due to not being overweight, tired, out of shape, stressed or lacking sleep.

‍Healthy employees experience less absenteeism. Some employers have reduced their absenteeism by 40 percent with a good wellness program.

‍Healthy employees have lower health care costs, which can be very expensive for an employer, depending on how much of the cost of health insurance is absorbed by the employer.
